Class tips for new students

Arrive 15 minutes before class to find parking, get settled and help ensure we start and end on time. We know sometimes lateness can’t be helped. If you are a new student, bring your signedstudent release form.
Avoid practicing on a full stomach. It can make some postures uncomfortable.
Don’t let nervousness hold you back from class. It is normal to feel nervous about new experiences, often the very best experiences in life!
Focus on your self, breathing and how your body feels. Yoga is not competitive so don’t worry if can’t do all the poses. You will get better in time and your body will feel great.
Please notify the teacher of any pain or health issues and get doctor approval if you have serious health concerns.
Promote peace for yourself and others. Turn off cell phones and other electronic devices. Make the most of your escape from the hectic world.
Listen to your body. Rest if you need it. Don’t enter fully into a posture if there is pain.
Give yourself what you need. Some days we feel strong and vibrant and enter postures easily, other days we lack energy, strength or flexibility. Honor where you are today. When we push ourselves too far too we can have setbacks and injuries.
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in but also shows body shape and alignment. Bare feet are best.
